Overview
This system detects obstacles and soil types in the front of the shield machine.
Advantages
- The shield machine cutter face is equipped with an antenna that transmits and receives electromagnetic waves.
- It can detect existing structures (culverts, manholes, piles, etc.) and obstacles (remaining piles, sheet piles, wide-flange beam steels, etc.) in front of the shield.
- The characteristics of electromagnetic waves can be used to determine the soil type (humus, clay, silt sand, sandy soil).
